Picturing symmetry
The picture above by Matthew Macauley shows the multiplication table (or Cayley table) of the symmetries of a square. The symmetries themselves are shown in the picture below: the square can be reflected across any of the four axes shown, or it can be rotated about its centre by 0°, 90°, 180°, or 270°.
